Now that Sony has officially pinned November 15th as the release of the Playstation 4, this leaves the ball in Microsofts court. When the Xbox One was unveiled the release was one of vagueness, arriving in November 2013. Although it gave us a nice window as to when the new system would release, it wasn't what everyone wanted...a definitive date. Recent findings though might point to a date earlier than Sonys.

A source, according to Kotaku, who works for a marketing company that deals with signage and product placement for Wal-Mart received a company conference call that listed a midnight for the system on November 8th. On the same call notes the major game releases also have a "Confirmed" next to them, unlike the Xbox One. What does this mean? As Kotaku states it could be a sudden decision in response to Sony's release announcement. It could also mean that it has the possibility to change.

This earlier date would make sense as it would be a way to beat the competition to the market. Of course a week wouldn't sway numbers as greatly as it did in the past with the 360 coming a year earlier than the Playstation 3, but it is a way to stir up conversation. I feel a week wouldn't contribute to as much as Microsoft would like simply because of the price difference but one can never know.

What do you think about the possible release date? Could this make a big difference? Let us know in the comments.
