Where to begin, where to begin?  Well, this is the first Dragonball Z movie to come out in quite some time.  Going into it, I had extremely high hopes.  I was not disappointed.  Let me start by describing the crowd, the theater was packed, people were dressed like Goku, and there were people that even died their hair.  Vaughn and myself sat next to a man that was definitely in his sixties.  The crowd was awesome, we all got so into it.  The cheering when the movie started was fantastic, and just shows off how beloved a series this really is.
The movie starts strongly, reminding us why we really loved these characters to begin with.  As it progresses a few things become very obvious.  This was created to essentially wipe out Dragonball GT, and it was written so if the opportunity arose, there could be sequel movies or even a full blown series.  Its that good, and the writing is that strong.
Visually the movie was incredibly stunning.  They use 3d animation as well as the normal animation, and the 3d is so crisp and strong that it doesn't get in the way of the normal animation at all.  It is a truly beautifully animated movie.
Story wise, there are quite a few throwbacks to the old series, Buu is in the movie, and sayaiman shows up for a brief scene.  Gotenks makes an appearance as well as some old forgotten villains.  They do a really good job of making this funnier than the normal serious toned dragonball movie, which is definitely a huge huge plus.
Because of all these things mixed with the great fight scenes and amazing story those of us at the GGP gave this movie a strong 9/10.  We all highly recommend this film, if you had the chance to see it in theaters then that is awesome, and if not I would purchase it the moment it becomes available to you.
