So, recently I've seen a lot of people on the internet just trashing the new power rangers movie for several reasons that are bothering me.  The casting for the rangers themselves is a bunch of lower level celebrities.  Brian Cranston is zordon, and Elizabeth Banks is Rita Repulsa.  The issue that people are having is that Billy Cranston is an African American now.  I don't really understand why that's an issue at all seeing as this movie is a soft reboot.  People are being ridiculous about it for no reason at all.
Another issue that people are having is that Tommy isn't in the movie.  Now being an enormous fan of the series, I know that Tommy wasn't one of the original cast and wasn't the leader until he was the white ranger in season 2.  Now some nod to a future Tommy being in the movie wouldn't be a problem.  But for so many people to outright say they don't want to see this movie because Tommy is not the leader is a little bit crazy.
How do you guys feel about all this stuff? Is it a big deal that Billy is African American? Do you care that Tommy could potentially not be in the film?  Let us know in the comments section!
