This was a foreseeable future after the announcement of a similar price cut from the Tokyo Game Show. As a result the sales of the system has jumped quite a bit in Japan. Why announce it in one country and not another? Good question but of course we waited....and waited....until today! Starting on October 9th the Playstation for will start out at the price of $349.99.
